beautiful disaster

my fiance and i love to go to live shows. we particularly love acoustic shows in intimate venues. monday night, we had a chance to see two amazing performers: jon mclaughlin and paolo nutini. they were playing at mr. smalls in millvale.
jon mclaughlin started the show off. not only is he pretty to look at, he also has an amazing voice. and mad skills on the piano. he played my favorite song: beautiful disaster. [click here to watch the video.]
here he is playing my jam:
here is a gratuitous shot because he is so purdy:

paolo nutini, on the other hand, was just ragged.
don’t get me wrong. he is an amazing performer. i love his songs. and was thrilled to have seen him live. i mean, honestly. any man that talks about the power of new shoes has the key to my heart! he also played my second favorite song, last request.
but boy did he look like he was on some serious drugs. now, you might be asking why we got that impression. so, here’s a handy dandy list:
1. he had a really bizarre intro to the show. the music he played sounded like it was from a 70s porn. only someone on drugs could have thought it was a good idea.
2. his fly was down when he walked on stage. how do you not notice that? he was so pissed [you know, drunk], that when he was taking a piss, he forgot to zip it up! we got a shot of him pretending like it didn’t happen…
3. his eyes were shut the entire duration of the concert. either he had stage fright or the boy was smoking a few too many funky cigarettes [if you catch my drift].
4. he has a song called funky cigarette! and it talks about the first time he got high.
5. this is what he looks like post show:
i rest my case.

wow!! McLaughlin and Nutini at one show!!
That must’ve been so great!
the best part is, we didn’t realize that jon mclaughlin was playing until we got there! it really was an amazing show.
wow…
jon mclaughlin is pretty
Oh God!
I love Paolo Nutini!
